Runaways to Wingstop

Runaways was a pretty good movie. It’s basically the story behind the Runaways and eventually Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. How can you go wrong with sex, drugs, and glam rock? Young starlets with their quick rise to fame and complete burnout in the process. The movie was well done and it doesn’t necessarily does anything wrong but it doesn’t do anything exceptionally well either. Dakota Fanning does a really good job as Cherie Currie. It’s weird seeing Dakota Fanning growing up but this is definitely one of the roles that I liked the most from Fanning. Kristen Stewart did a decent job playing Joan Jett, but I think her innate awkwardness was still visible. She definitely looked the part, but she couldn’t quite get Joan Jett’s confidence and downright badassery. To her credit though, Kristen Stewart did a good job playing the iconic Joan Jett and this was WAY better than her Twilight roles where half her acting was screaming or hyperventilating. Together Fanning and Stewart holds the film together. Music was legit, which is to be expected in a movie like this where its focus was a band, and its kind of surprising to find out that all the singing in the movie was actually Fanning and Stewart. they actually did their own singing and they did it well too. If you like glam rock, hell if you like rock in general, watch this movie.

After me and Rose caught Runaways, we had a weird run into everyone at AMC type thing that happens now and again. We ran into Brandon Perez, Scarlett, Lida, Wilson, Charlie, Mando, and Chels. All within a 2 minute span from leaving the theater. After a bit of talking with Wilson, Michelle, and Hope, me and Rose catch up with Justin for a Wingstop run. I didn’t have my usual this time, I ordered the ten piece combo, Lemon Pepper and Original Hot, the drink was a Sprite and Ranch dip. As usual it was bomb and a great conversation between the three of us ensued.
