Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale

Alright so Oaked Arrogant Bastard isn't for the faint of heart. It's an American strong ale and is definitely more for serious beer drinkers. Be warned if you're used to cheaper beers or weaker tasting beers this is going to be an utter shock to your system. It has a very very strong flavor to it and that usually surprises people that don't expect it. It pours out and has an off white head that isn't too heavy. It also pours with a reddish brown tint and has a slight floral oak smell with a hint of hops. It has a strong bitter taste to it and you definitely taste the oak essence that its infused with. After the initial hit is finishes with a slight caramel aftertaste that lets it go through smoothly. Great beer and it's a must try if you can take it

24 Season 4

24 Season 4 was another great season in the franchise. It's the season with the Secretary of Defense kidnapping that turned to a race to find a nuke. It had all the 24 fixings that made the series notable. Twists and turns were aplenty although there wasn't really anyone new that was hot this season. Audrey is not a looker but at least Michelle was there so that gave me all I needed in the looks department. But yea...24 hasn't disappointed me from the seasons that I have seen. I'm going to rewatch season 5 next and from what I remember it was pretty good and then im gonna move on the the seasons that I missed cause of college...wish me luck...

Reminds me of my first time....

Today was a pretty good day. Woke up and did my CRWT homework then I jammed off to work. Work was definitely good today minus a few hitches. I ushered with Kev, Chels, Mario, and Tarah at first with Cesar on the floor. That went smooth as usual. Kev and Tarah got out and Brenda, Solis, and Karina came in. Concession ended up jacking Brenda and Karina and we lost Chels to restroom checks. It was still smooth for the most part minus the random hit but it's all good. I had a foody break though. I had chicken tenders and a pepperoni pizza with jalapeños. They hit the spot. After work I met up with Kev, Caydie, Chels, and Carissa in the lot and I break out the guitar. Solis was there too and he jammed for a little bit before jamming out. We then hit up Sonics for some late night food. I had the Popcorn Chicken with jalapeños and a Route 44 Cherry Limeade. Shit was good. Had a great convo that covered everything and anything. I came home to a double double too...that's how you end a night hahaha

That's what she said....

Today was a good day. It was also a long day. I woke up like around noonish and instantly started to get ready for tonight festivities. There was still a little bit of time so I made a quick run to Best Buy in Fullerton and bought the Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch graphics tablet. Definitely worth the $110 I spent on it. I'm gonna be rocking Photoshop CS5 once I get free time to start working on art stuff again. A week and a half and I'm free. Right when I got back me and my parents jammed out to Granada for Lanzy's debut. Got there and I was the only one of the cousins to be there at the time so I felt out of place around all the little "children" so I just worked on my chapbook assignment for CRWT56. Dana and her family get there and I was finally in my element with my age group. Basically the local fambam was there minus Joanna cause she was out of the area. Even Kae was there as was Sofrito and Uncle Robin and Tita Sol. Shit was legit cause I never get too see them anymore. Oh Uncle Ding and his kids showed up too. Fuuuuck....Kyle, Denise, and Shane are biiiig now. I still remember when Kyle and Denise were born. So yea...Laker game was on today too. That became a family wide event cause what do you expect from my fambam? We all huddled around the TV together to cheer on the purple and gold. As expected we won and we advance to the finals and take the Western Conference title. Lots of chilling ensued. That's what she saids flew around, spazzy Sofrito made us lough, pictures, expired beer, and apparently I was one of the flowers for the debut...or in this case a lei. That took me off guard but it's all good hahaha. Definitely a good night. Oh, finished it off by watching several 24 season 3 episodes to finish it off....

Spoons and Forks

Yesterday I basically spent the bulk of my day working on shit. I woke up and went to The Hub with Sana to work on my programming assignment. After that i took him home and hit up Best Buy before work to try and get a graphics tablet but they didn't have the one I wanted in stock so I skipped out on it for now. They I went to work where I ushers with Ryan, Gus, Sarah, Hernan, and a new girl. It was pretty damn chill all day so nothing to complain about there. After that I helped Gus close and waited to hear back from Mindy who was at the movies but I never heard form her so I jammed out. When I was in the lot I ran into Bishop and Chelsea who were apparently waiting for me for a Denny's run so we go and meet up with Geoff there. I had my usual French Toast Slam with a Root Beer. Hilarity ensued all night and I have it on video....don't worry Chels I won't post it up...yet hahahaha. After we jammed out of Denny's I spent all night working on my programming assignment...fml

Prince of Persia

What can I honestly say about this movie? It's entertaining for the most part. Alright, here's the god honest truth. I went into the movie expecting utter shit but I walked out amused. It's far from being a great movie, but it's definitely not a bad one. It's a decent action movie that takes ALOT of inspiration from The Mummy and Scorpion King movies. There's nothing too unique about this movie and it doesn't really put forth anything new to the table, but it's entertaining and that's all you can really ask for. The similarities are uncanny but what can you do about it. This is definitely also one of the best movies based on videogames ever made but i still prefer the Resident Evils over this, but I liked this more than I liked Silent Hill. One really good thing about the movie is that you can really see the videogame mechanics at work in a lot of the scenes. The wall running in there, the rewind feature for when you fuck up is there, and the acrobatic shit is present and accounted for. Jake Gyllenhaal does fine and so does Gemma Arterton. I loved Gemma Arterton in this movie, but I'm definitely biased cause i think she's just stunning. She made Clash of the Titans worth watching for me and she really helped this movie along just cause I loved looking at her the whole time.

56 Project: FO

I was over 500 words over the 750 word limit…but I finished it 2 days early. Here it is…

If I visited Father’s Office again I would have gotten another Office Burger and more of the different beers like Alaskan White, Arrogant Bastard, Abyss, and others that I don’t remember. You can order regular beers like Coronas but why would you when you have the best craft and specialty beers on the west coast. Seriously, if you like beer, this is the place to be but the burger takes the cake. When I went, it was with my sister Joanna, and my cousins Dana and Chuck to celebrate my 21st birthday, which was, you guessed it, 21 years in the making and where better to commemorate my legalization to booze than a bar with arguably the best burgers in the nation, ranked. When we walked in, the smell of people, beer, and grill floored me. The ambience fit the locale perfectly with the dim lights giving everything a slight glow, the walls covered with countless taps of the massive beer selection—and I mean massive; ales, lager and everything in between. The place was jumping and was completely packed, like shoulder to shoulder guests. Everyone who’s anyone was there from young business men in suits spreading business cards to beer aficionados who slowly drank their brews while analyzing the consistency and longevity of the head. Even homosexuals were in attendance from the West Hollywood gays in cashmere sweaters and finely jujjed hair to the suburban gays in low cut V-necks with over stylized faux hawks. Ordering was a total bitch, screaming was a requirement, and that didn’t guarantee than anyone’s going to hear; just think taxi cab in New York and you get the idea. Outside was just as packed and was the only place with open tables. Everyone was huddled under the hot warmers that overlooked half the tables like a broiler and the rest were off in the corner, dark, desolate, and cold as fuck. We lucked out and found a table near a warmer so we were nice and toasty. I had two Office Burgers, sweet potato fries, and two tall glasses of the Port Brewing Midnight Sessions. I can’t stress this enough, the Office Burger is heaven on a platter—nirvana. The moment I started eating, everything disappeared; I was alone with the food, everybody around me melted away into the blur of the background leaving me with my beautiful bounty of delightful sustenance. The burger had fresh, crispy arugula over two week aged ground beef which was like having a cow slaughtered in shop to be served fresh. It was accented by onions with smoked bacon minced in and everything was cradled by crispy yet fluffy French bread that must have been baked fresh. After each mouthful of the burger followed a beefy aftertaste that dares you to continue eating but doing so was excruciating ‘cause it’s one bite closer to being finished. It also brought me farther from my cousins, who no longer existed—I was so focused on the intense flavors of the grubbage. I was flabbergasted to think I’ve missed out on burgers like this for so long. Gone are my days of McGriddles or Baconators that taste like mass produced tires, the Office Burger found a special place in my stomach. The burger went beautifully with the Midnight Sessions lager which poured straight from the tap in all its dark, full glory. It exuded the aroma of roasted malt and the flavor of pristine stouts, the sweetness hinting through the flavor of the roasted nuts and chocolate with the essence of hops just being noticeable. The mild carbonation allowed the complexity of the brew to shine uninterrupted making it seem like angel piss—ambrosia on Earth. Best of all is this is all served one way and one way only, the way that they make it; if you want it changed, get the fuck out. How do I know this? Someone asked for ketchup and the waitress just laughed and walked away; now that’s do or die service. What was once a full platter of food and glasses of beer, was reduced to an empty plate with traces of blood, juice, and crumbs. Once I was done, it was time to go and I missed out on most of the conversation because of the meal. I just spent whatever time I had remaining at the Office reminiscing about the burger knowing that I won’t be eating it too often to keep it special, as it deserves to be. I’m hooked.

Manhattan Project

Tuesday was a bust. Didn't do anything, I just went to class, slept and hit up taco Tuesday at Del Taco and Rubio's. Today wasn't much better. I just went to my CS10 lab and then went to sleep. After that I got photoshop and finished my Manhattan ambigram. I'm quite fond of it.

Recap

Yesterday wasn't too eventful. I did my work in the afternoon before I went to work but I didn't get to really finish my calc stuff. I went to work to usher and found out that I was switched to IMAX duty so i just rocked that for a bit until Vinh wanted to ushers to be out by 10:30 which meant we had to close out usher an hour and a half earlier than expected. So we sent Aron to do jalapeños and me and Hernan knocked out most of the houses until I had to finish up washing the glasses. We knocked everything out in time and we got out before 10:30. I met up with Kevin and we jammed chilled with Bishop and Wil until Wil and Bishop split. Me and Kev jam to Jaz's pad where we had a couple beers and chilled with everyone there. Good times and reminded me of last time drinking at jaz's apt. After that me and Kev got a quick bit out to eat and then we split.

Today i just woke up late, went to Rside, went to class, ate, and did/doing homework...fml

Jac-uuuuuuuuuuuuuzi Buuuuuuuuuuddy

Woke up and went to work....doing....get this....concession! Yea, got a concession shift today...backbar though so it was pretty bomb. I liked it even though I was totally lost. Jaz, Mar, Alex, and Hernan helped me out a ton with Scarlett providing tons of laughs hahaha. After that I chilled with the two Kevins and Jaz in the lot until we caught up with Chels, Caydie, and Carissa. Caydie, Carissa, and Chels jammed to Ricardo's joint right away while Jaz and I went home real quick to get out shit together. We all met up at Ric's pad and we Jacuzzi'ed the night away. Legit night...don't really wanna work/do homework but I gotta.

Life

so....

Yesterday was more of the usual working day stuff but it was good nonetheless. I woke up pretty late cause I got home very late but I got to work on time. I was porter and ushered with a really fun group of ushers. I was with Bishop, Wilson, Carissa, Kiwi, and Scarlett. It was really chill. I helped Bishop and Carissa close out usher and we all went out to get some grubbage after. Me, Rose, Wilson, Brandon, Cynthia, Bishop, Mando, Carissa, and Chels all went to Denny's after...you know...the usual AMC tradition after closing. I had the Sampler cause I wanted to try something new...it was deace. After that we all jammed out and today's a new day.

PAU!

Last night was all for Chelsea. We basically went to Caydie's friend Ricardo's pad and drank. Ricardo was legit. Perez, his girl, Victor, Rose, Chels, Carissa, and Jazz was there too. There's others but they weren't there for too long. I bonged a lot of beers and almost lost control. I did fine though and we ended the night with a Del Taco run. Yup yup, great night indeed.

Truths

Nada...

I did nothing today. I wished Chelsea a happy birthday and that's basically it. I went to class this morning and it was my 3 hour CS lab. I finished that and came home. I took a 5 hour nap ish and woke up to do my CS assignment. That too me about 5 hours to do and that's it. Now I might watch a movie or just crash for the night. Hopefully there's a blowout for Chelsea tomorrow cause I can make tomorrow night.

Yea....

100 Girls

100 Girls is definitely a diamond in the rough. Most people have never heard of it and the only reason I know about this movie is cause it was randomly on HBO years ago and I accidentally ran into it. There's just something weirdly great about this film. It's stupid yet smart. It's offensive yet appropriate. It takes the stereotypical idea of romance and puts it in a realistic lens. From the farting sounds during sex when air gets trapped between two people to the differences between how men and women think and feel. You're going to have a lot of moments where you can identify with the movie whether you're a man or woman. Hell, it even tackles homosexuality, although in a very very very limited scope, years before it came to the forefront of society. Basically this is just a fun movie that you can enjoy. You can see intelligent undertones if you really look, but it doesn't try to be smart at all. It knows it's a simple movie and runs with it and it's because of that reason that the movie is as good as it is.

CHELSEA!

Happy Birthday Chelsea! May your hair shine brighter than ever....and let's get fucked up to celebrate!

World's Greatest Dad

World's Greatest Dad. I've been meaning to watch this for a long time but I kept putting it on the back burner for some reason. Dude...it's so good. It's satirizes everything about parenthood to the high school experience. Robin Williams yet again shines in a dramatic role with portions of humor. This movie shines as a dark comedy and the vulgarity is perfect to make Kyle such a douche. It's hard to describe this movie just cause it seems to be a regular comedy if you don't know about it, but it's actually very morbid and is one of the edgier movies I've seen in a long while. It's definitely one of the few movies that made me laugh out loud instead of a small chuckle and every time you do laugh or chuckle you feel guilty cause you know you shouldn't be. This is a great movie that you should not miss.

Primer

Primer...this movie is NOT for the faint of heart. It's very complicated and wraps around itself. Basically it's about a guy and his buddy who inexplicably create a time machine. This is no Back to the Future or Time Machine. This is very intelligent and very confusing if you don't pay attention or if you can't grasp the idea of a fourth dimension. If you've never watched any time travel type movie or if you got confused during Terminator, this will not be for you cause you wont get it. But if you loved that twisting and confusing idea if time travel, then this movie is right up your ally. I loved it for what it is...a mind trip. You want to understand how the machine works, but that is put to the back burner and you don't even notice cause everything else is soo good. This is also Shane Carruth's first ever movie and was made for about $7000. Super low budget, debut movie for Carruth and he makes this? Amazing. Not to mention I don't think he had any film schooling which makes it even more astounding that he made a movie of this caliber.

Finally came!

After 2 weeks of waiting my Beer Bottle Bong and breathalyzer finally arrived in the mail. I just tried it out right now and I bonged a Heineken in about 5 seconds...I can do better I'm just not used to bonging hahaha. I'm used to shotgunning cans more. I tried out the breathalyzer after the bong and i got a score of 0.02. I can't wait to really put them to work.

Douche!

Work oriented day today. Went to work and ushered with Marlene and Julia most of the day. Worked with Carla and Garret for a little also. I had Hope and Cesar on the floor which was legit and found out that Cesar was my mentor. Nothing big happened at work. It was the basic stuff I guess. I got to borrow God of War III from Al which is cool. After work I loitered for a bit on the floor talking to Hope and Frankie After that I went up to the break room where I ended up chilling with Rose, Andrew Mota, Carla, Caydie, Carissa, Brenda, Liz, Allen, and Kyle; of course not at the same time. After that Me, Chelsea, Rose, and Karina hit up Denny's for a quick bite to eat but before we jammed out Vinh gave us the leftover donuts from the back office. I had the Zesty Nachos at Denny's. We jammed out after that and it was basically a good way to end the night.

Douche...lol

Siiiiick

Alright day started out with the security meeting at work. That lasted a good 2 and a half hours or three hours, I’m not sure. After the meeting me, the two kevins, Chelsea, Caydie, and Wil hit up Ihop for a quick meal. We ended up bailing on Ihop after we get the drinks so we pay for those and jam out to Hooters.
Yea…fuckin’ Hooters. We get a bunch of wings there and chilled for a bit. After we finish up at Hooters and figured out how to pay we hit up Ikea cause Bishop and Chels have never been there before. We mess around at Ikea for a while until Chels had to get to work so we jam out and get her to AMC on time.

The two Kevins and Wil jam out so me and Caydie just chill for a long while in the lot. We played with her guitar for a little bit, talked a bunch, and hit up Jamba juice where I got some strawberry drink. We also hit up the health place by Jamba to look around and to get Caydie some snackage that she can actually eat.

After that we jam out to work. I got a black shirt and started ushering with Mario, Carissa, Anne, Paul, and Denise. I switch out Denise with Kiwi at drop so we got Kiwi instead. It was a really chill day at work. Everything went like clockwork and I cleaned up puke like old times. Helped close out usher and concession and here I am now. Oh yea….also let Al borrow InFamous cause he needed a new game to play.

Forgot to mention.....

I also got my Ironman 2 posters from Rose. I think it's the whole cast on and the one that's just Ironman. No Black Widow one which saddens me...

24 Season 3

Yet another great season of 24. The third season is basically about a weaponized virus. Jack is as badass as ever in this season. He goes from field ops to the middle of a drug cartel back to field ops and everything in between. Palmer is as torn as ever. Sherry is as much of a bitch now as the past. Chloe is perfectly annoying. Tony is still great. Michelle and Kim are as stunning as they’ve ever been. It just all works great and puts season 3 up there with the first 2.

Angie's night

Went to class…went to Angie’s…lost control. I shotgunned too many beers…I had too much absinthe…morning was hell….fuck…

Not much happened today. I just went to lab in the morning then played some Modern Warfare 2 and a little bit with Mario. Then I started my programming assignment. Took me about 5 hours but at least I finished it. Also went grocery shopping. That was my day.

I ate 7 pieces of Church's Chicken today. I ate it with 5 peppers. It was delicious. That is all.

Truth

Hammer-roids

Worked with Ryan, Bishop, and Mando today. It was pretty damn chill. After work I hit up Wingstop with Rose and I changed up my order. I had the 10 piece combo, Lemon Pepper and Original Hot with ranch and a Sprite. It was legit as usual. Then we lingered at AMC for a little bit and caught Ironman 2 in IMAX. That was also legit as usual. Siiiick

Yeah...you know it! Happy Mother's Day.
Mahal kita.

Simplicity

Woke up. Went to work. Worked with Gus, Jeff, Tarah but we switched her out with Anne as soon as humanly possible, and Charlie. Busy ish day but could have been worse. Stayed extra to help Charlie and Perez close for a bit and here I am now. I'm hungry...

Food run

Today was pretty chill despite being fucking tired. I didn't sleep last night cause I got home at 4am and it took forever for me to finish my programming assignment. It took me over 5 hours to figure out that my program wasn't working cause I was doing int division so I kept getting 0 as my incrementation. I changed the variables to doubles and everything fell into place.

Went to work and it was a pretty badass day. I ushered with Lida, Ryan, Leslie, Caydie, and Alicia. Totally badass ushering group. Everything went like clockwork for the most part. It wasn't too busy today so we didn't really stress out. Got a group of people to get some grub after work too. Jeff bailed cause his hours got cut and he didn't want to wait around for several hours until everyone else got out, Rose was tired so she jammed out, and we almost got Karina to go but she was too damn tired. At the end it was me, Lida, Caydie, Alex, and Kevin. We hit up Tommy's for a while. I had a chili burger with chili fries and a super large rootbeer. We talked for a long while and jammed out after. I took Lida and Alex home and here I am now.

I'm so fuckin' tired.

Ironman 2 and grubbage

I watched Ironman 2 twice yesterday. The first one was with Brandon Flores and Perez, Marlene, Carissa, Chelsea, two of the new hires that I don’t remember their names, and for a little bit Gus. Ironman 2 was just legit. I personally loved the movie but it wasn’t as good as the first. It’s a lot more story than the first one and Fury has a bigger role in the movie and I think that was a great choice. It totally leads into the other movies that go into the Avenger story so get ready for nerdgasms. It’s also more comic book oriented than the first one. His suitcase suit makes an appearance which was also a reference to his silver/red suit that he had for a while in the comics. How do I know that? I’m not too sure but fuck it…it was great. Black Widow was just stunning. She has some of the best scenes in the movie I think but I’m kind of biased cause I loved how she was in the movie. Cheadle as War Machine takes the cake though. His taking on the role was the best thing that could have happened in Ironman. Sorry Terrence Howard but Cheadle totally rocks the role. I’m so stoked for the next movies in line towards Avengers. I won’t go into details but it got me pumped.

After I watched it the first time we chilled in the lobby to wait for the next screening. While we waited I got a Bic Mac and large fries to eat during the movie. Then I watched it all over again with Rose, Tucker, and Ryan. There was other people in the theater, but I sat with this group.

After that ended me and Rose caught up with Wilson and Lida and we chilled with them at AMC for a bit. Then we jammed out to Alberto’s down Azuza. I got the Carne Asada Fries which are totally bomb. Those never disappoint. Even though I was still kinda full from the McDonalds, I had to finish up those bomb fries. The four of us chilled and talked for a bit then we went back to AMC and Wilson and Lida jammed out and me and Rose went in to see who was down to chill.

At AMC we caught up with Chelsea, Brandon Perez, Kevin, Carla, Caydie, and Jaz. We all decided to hit up Norms and Kevin just met up with us there cause he was closing or something. At Norms I had a Chocolate Smore Cake thing that was bomb and we just talked it up and sang some classic 90’s jams and basically just chilled together. Until we jammed out.

That was my night…I’m tired cause I haven’t slept…I spent all morning working on my programming assignment which is done now thanks to Rex.

From what I remember

Alright, Saturday I had work from 6-midnight. I'm not exactly sure who I worked with. I just remember working with Lida. After work we went over to Wilson's place for some drinking. It was me, Chelsea, Lida, Carissa, Wilson, Jaz, Kevin, Brandon Perez, Steph, and Ty. Me, Wil, Brandon, and Kev hit up the Jacuzzi and everyone drank. It was Chels and Brandon's first times getting fucked up and it was hilarious. Brandon passed out first, I helped Chels, Brandon, and Carissa throw up. I think Ty put the trash under me so I could throw up. We all woke up to Wil's parent's prepping food for us. Wil your parents are totally legit!

I caught a ride with Wil and Jaz back to AMC after the Laker game. and I worked from 5-1015 where I trained the new hires on the floor while having a hangover...that was my weekend.

Forgot to mention...

I also picked up some posters at work again. I got another Hit-Girl poster, two Nightmare on Elm Street ones, and a Death at a funeral poster. That is all…

Nightmares and Donuts

Alright I gotta catch up on this. Thursday first…class then went to watch Elm Street for Carissa’s birthday. Me and Chelsea go and pick her up, get something to drink and watch Elm Street with Lida, Charlie, and Wilson.

Elm Street. The original was lightyears ahead of this movie. I’m pretty bad. It wasn’t scary at all. It was more funny than scary. I got creeped out cause of all the little girls in dresses, but that’s just me…simply put…skip it.

Brandon Perez and Kevin new Kevin joined us after they finished closing. After the movie we went to Denny’s and I had the usual FTC. We chilled there for hours and we called it a night around 4.

Friday…today…I woke up and did my 56 project post for CRWT and went to work. I ushered from 6-midnight with Caydie, Brandon Flores, Allen, and Lily. It was definitely a very chill day and nothing interesting happened at work. Oh, Octomom was there…that was it. After work me, Rose, Brandon, Caydie, and Bishop hit up Christie’s Donuts and then 7-11 and chilled in Bishop’s Bronco. Many laughs, several cops, and cigarettes later we call it a night and here I am now.
