Inception
Inception. Stunning film. This is easily Nolan's best film yet and is a prime example of how a summer movie can be intelligent. The idea of the movie is simple, put an idea within someone mind through their dreams, but the execution is beautifully complex. One goal, one idea, several layers to go through. It's so cerebral that it picks at you the more you pick at it. Casting was, in my opinion, superb. DiCaprio did a fine job in the lead but as everyone already knows Gordon-Levitt stole the show. If 500 Days of Summer didn't already put him in the limelight, this movie did. (I do hate all the Gordon-Levitt bandwagoners though, most of them haven't even seen Brick, which I think is the role that broke him out of his Third Rock from the Sun typecast) But yea, the supporting cast also did a superb job in the flick. Nolan's hand is evident in the film as you see many shots that was strikingly similar to his past movies *cough* Dark Knight *cough*. The same can be said with much of the tone and mood. This is definitely a Nolan movie, you will know it when you see it. Everything else like the visuals is top notch and you all already know it so there's no point in talking about it. My only real complain about the movie is the lack of character development, but I can see why that was done so meh, fuck it. Great movie....you already know that...so watch it again.
